Studio Graphē One ("we", "our", "us") built Graphē One™ Scripture Study as a paid application for Mac. This page describes our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use the app.
Information We Do Not Collect
Scripture Study does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our servers. We have no user accounts, no analytics, no crash-reporting SDKs, and no advertising. Your study data stays on your device or in your own iCloud account.
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored on your Mac only, in the platform's standard storage, and is never transmitted to Studio Graphē One:
Your app preferences and settings; your choice of Bible modules folder (stored as a security-scoped bookmark); your reading position and history; and any search indexes the app builds for fast full-text search inside your modules.
iCloud Sync
Scripture Study uses iCloud to sync certain data across your Apple devices, including your bookmarks, notes, and chat history. This sync happens through Apple's iCloud Drive and CloudKit key-value storage using your Apple ID. The data is encrypted in transit and at rest, governed by Apple's privacy policy, and is never accessible to Studio Graphē One.
You can disable iCloud access for Scripture Study at any time in System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud. All data will continue to be available locally on your Mac.
Calendar Access
The Organiser feature can optionally display events from your system calendars — personal calendar entries and contacts' birthdays — alongside Scripture reading plans and Christian feast days. If you grant calendar access, the app reads event titles for display purposes only. This data is read locally from EventKit and is never transmitted to Studio Graphē One or any third party. You can revoke calendar access at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.
AI Features
If you use the optional AI chat or summary features, the text of the passage or question you submit is sent directly to the AI provider you have configured: a local Ollama installation on your own Mac, or Anthropic's API using an API key you supply yourself. In both cases this is a direct connection between your device and the provider you choose. Studio Graphē One has no involvement in or visibility into this data exchange. Please refer to your chosen provider's privacy policy for details.
If Apple Intelligence is available on your device and you enable it within the app, processing occurs entirely on-device. No data is sent to Studio Graphē One.
Licence Redemption
If you redeem a licence code to unlock a purchased module, the app sends that code to api.studiographeone.com for validation. Only the licence code itself is transmitted — no personally identifiable information, no device identifiers. The server verifies the code and, if valid, returns a download URL for the module file. Redeemed codes are recorded to prevent reuse.
In-App Purchases
Any in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store. Studio Graphē One receives only a transaction confirmation and the product identifier — we never see your payment details or Apple ID.
Children's Privacy
Scripture Study does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is suitable for readers of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will be noted in subsequent app update release notes.
