Scrib

The manuscript editor that works in harmony with Microsoft Word.

Write on your iPhone or iPad. Open the very same document in Word on your desk. No importing, no exporting, no converting — one file, faithfully shared.

iOS 17 · iPadOS 17

Why Scrib

One document. Everywhere you write.

Scrib edits Word documents natively — the .docx you open is the .docx Word opens, down to the last style, comment, and bookmark.

DOCX, natively

Scrib reads and writes genuine Word format. Headings appear in Word's navigation pane, comments in its review pane, bookmarks where you left them — and everything Scrib doesn't touch is preserved byte for byte.

OneDrive, built in

Sign in with your Microsoft account and Scrib syncs your document the way Word does — directly. Every save is uploaded and confirmed; a quiet status cloud tells you the truth at a glance.

Made for long manuscripts

Four hundred pages open instantly and navigate like forty. A collapsible outline, verse-level bookmarks, fold-away parallel text, and a fully offline thesaurus — built for serious, book-length work.

  • Spinning arrows — your newest words are on their way to OneDrive.
  • Green tick — confirmed in the cloud. Word anywhere opens exactly what you see.
  • Orange — upload waiting (for example, the file is open in Word elsewhere). Your words stay safe and retry automatically.
  • Red — the cloud copy changed while you were writing. Scrib shows you who changed it and exactly what changed, then asks which version wins — it never overwrites silently.

And open documents keep themselves current: change the file on your Mac or in Word, and a Scrib holding it open refreshes within moments — with a quiet note saying who changed it.

Your words, saved before you wonder whether they were.

Your work is yours alone.

No tracking, no ads, no analytics. Your documents travel only between your device and your own OneDrive — and nowhere else.
