Graphē One Codex

Last updated: April 2026

Studio Graphē One ("we", "our", "us") built Graphē One Codex as a paid application for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use the app.

Information We Do Not Collect

Graphē One Codex does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. We have no servers, no user accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising. Everything you do in the app stays on your device or in your own iCloud.

Documents and Files

Codex reads documents — EPUB and PDF files — that you choose to import. Those documents remain on your device, in iCloud Drive under your own Apple ID, or in whichever location you store them. Studio Graphē One never sees your files and has no access to them.

When you grant Codex access to a folder or file, that access is governed by the platform's standard file-permission system (macOS security-scoped bookmarks, iOS file provider). You can revoke access at any time through system settings.

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to us or any third party:

Your app preferences and settings (in the platform's standard preferences store), your bookmarks and reading position, your highlights and notes, your library catalogue (the list of documents you have added), and any indexes Codex builds to enable fast search inside large documents.

iCloud Sync

Codex uses iCloud to sync your library, bookmarks, reading position, and annotations across your Apple devices. This sync happens through Apple's iCloud Drive and CloudKit services using your Apple ID. The data is encrypted in transit and at rest, governed by Apple's privacy policy, and is never accessible to Studio Graphē One.

If you prefer to keep everything local, you can disable Codex's access to iCloud at Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud on iOS/iPadOS, or in System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud on macOS.

Third-Party Services

Codex does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs. The only network communication the app performs is with Apple's iCloud, and only when you have iCloud sync enabled.

Children's Privacy

Graphē One Codex does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is suitable for readers of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will be reflected in the version notes of subsequent app updates.
