Cross-References

Scripture linking scripture

How it works

Tap any verse number in the Bible panel to load cross-references for that verse in the companion panel. The companion panel switches automatically to the Cross-References tab.

Module types

ScriptureStudy supports two cross-reference formats:

FormatDescription
OBX (Native)MyBible native format with a cross_references table. References are grouped into Primary, Secondary and Related categories based on relevance votes.
TSKTreasury of Scripture Knowledge format stored in a commentaries table. Includes the classic TSK and enhanced editions.
NKJV FootnotesThe NKJV footnote apparatus linking footnote markers to supporting scriptures.

Switching modules

A picker in the Cross-References tab header lets you switch between all installed cross-reference modules. Selecting a new module reloads the references for the current verse immediately.

Tap any cross-reference entry to load that passage in the Comparison panel. The main Bible panel stays on your current passage. A Back button appears at the top of the comparison panel to return to the current chapter.

Cross-reference navigation always goes to the Comparison panel — your main Bible reading position is never disturbed.

Installing cross-reference modules

Copy your cross-reference SQLite files into your modules folder and refresh the Library. Files with is_footnotes=true in their info table, or whose description contains "treasury", "TSK", "cross-reference" or "footnote", are automatically detected as cross-reference modules.
